Despite the Hurdles, She Nailed It!
I am not sure about you, but I really enjoy challenging myself by trying out new skills—especially when they are within reach and align with my interests. So, in this blog post, I’m stepping into the role of narrator to share an event we recently worked on: the launch of the new JAC T9 pickup trucks.

Please note that this story is a descriptive recount of the event from my colleague Ivena’s perspective, shared based on my own assumptions and interpretation.
Apart from our usual responsibilities in on-ground media and KOL management, Ivena had an additional task for this event, which was coordinating media and KOL interviews. Her role essentially involved approaching attendees throughout the event and diving into interview mode—firing off questions and capturing their thoughts on the spot.
This task wasn’t exactly easy for Ivena, as she often struggles with remembering names and faces, which made it challenging to approach the right attendees. But fret not—true to her fearless spirit and her personal motto, 'Do or die', Ivena rose to the challenge and pushed past her limits.

Armed with a list of interview questions and a whole lot of determination, Ivena took a deep breath and dove into the crowd. But honestly? Her first few tries didn’t go so well. Most of the media and KOLs were in full content-creation mode—filming, taking photos, doing live streams—so trying to catch them for a quick chat felt nearly impossible.
On top of that, the space was small and packed, which made it even harder to move around or spot people at the right moment. By the time she’d make her way over to someone, they’d already disappeared into the crowd. A few golden interview opportunities slipped right through her fingers.

But if you know Ivena, you’ll know she doesn’t give up that easily. True to her motto, “Do or die,” she shook off the rough start and got back in the game. Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, she started creating her own—jumping in during short breaks, catching people in between their own shoots, and making the most of whatever time she could get.
Slowly but surely, things started to click. Her confidence grew, her timing improved, and soon she was moving through the crowd with ease—chatting, laughing, and collecting interviews like a pro. Was it flawless? Nope. Did she miss a few chances? Definitely. But by the end of the event, she had everything we needed and then some.
And you know what? She actually enjoyed it. Despite the chaos, the nerves, and the name-forgetting moments, she said she’d gladly do it all over again—next time, with even more confidence and maybe a cheat sheet of names, just in case.
Oh—and I’d be remiss not to mention one particularly hilarious moment that truly tested Ivena’s patience (and poker face). Midway through the event, a group of very familiar faces showed up—well-known in the scene not for their media work, but for crashing events in hopes of free food and future perks. Fake media, basically. Ivena spotted them immediately and sprang into action, trying to gently steer them away from the exclusive area with a perfect blend of
politeness and passive-aggressive charm. For a moment, it looked like she might actually pull it off. But alas—these veterans of the freebie circuit were too smooth. Before we knew it, they had plates in hand, drinks flowing, and were making themselves very comfortable. Ivena could only laugh (and maybe cry a little inside). She fought a good fight—but in the end, the fake media won that round.
So here’s to Ivena— ‘Jack of All Trades’, not necessarily a master of one, but more than capable of making things happen when it counts. And honestly? That’s way more impressive than perfection.
