Hello there, my name is Samantha! This blog is a way to kick start my internship journey in Circuit Communications. I wanted to share a meaningful experience that left a memorable impression on me. The very first campaign I witnessed was a collaboration between Rohto-Mentholatum and Watsons Malaysia—a project that spreads kindness to the elderly care homes in Klang Valley.
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Rohto-Mentholatum partnered with Watsons Malaysia to raise funds for the elderly care homes. At the heart of this initiative is the “Little Nurse” logo to symbolise spreading love and happiness to those who need it the most.

I had the privilege of visiting Rumah Orang-Orang Tua Seri Setia, an elderly care home in Sungai Way. The atmosphere was filled with warmth as the Rohto-Mentholatum team invited the residents to join in activities like making DIY massage hammers, cake-cutting ceremony for a birthday celebration, and even singing their hearts out during karaoke. What stood out to me wasn’t just the activities, but the joy that radiated from the elderly as they participated, laughed, and shared those precious moments together.

For me, the most moving part was seeing their smiles. It was the kind of smile that stays with you—sincere, grateful, and full of life. When it was time to say goodbye, it was not a farewell with a heavy heart, but a rather uplifting one. Their waves and cheerful voices felt like a promise, as if they were saying, “See you again next year!” That moment reminded me of how much our presence can mean so much to someone.
In our busy lives, we often forget to pause and treasure the small joys around us. Yet for the elderly, something as simple as singing a song together or enjoying a conversation can turn an ordinary day into something extraordinary. This experience reminded me that contentment is not found in the big milestones of life—it’s hidden in quiet, everyday moments. Sometimes, it is just as simple as gazing out of a window, or sipping a cup of coffee in peace.
This is my story on visiting the Rumah Orang-Orang Tua Seri Setia. Hope you get a chance to visit them too!
